★ PUKKA PADS sponsors Andrew Bell and Paul Glatzel in The Great British RIB Rally 2010, helping to reach their target of £10,000+ for The Sparkle Appeal.
After many months of well founded rumour, Andrew Bell and Paul Glatzel officially announce that they have entered Andrew’s 9.2m Scorpion RIB “Evolution” into the 2010 Great British RIB Rally starting 12th June.
The Great British RIB Rally 2010 is being organised by Scorpion RIBs
in Lymington and about 20 RIBs have entered from a variety of
manufacturers. Unlike most boating expeditions around the UK this
event is planning to route participants around the west coast of
Ireland, along the Atlantic coast and, rather than taking the usual short-cut through Scotland via the
Caledonian Canal, the boats are planning to travel around the top of Scotland. The event is not a race
and aims to cover the 1870 nautical miles in 12 days.
As part of this trip of a lifetime, we aim to raise in excess of £10,000 for the Sparkle Appeal which is being organised by the Victoria Education Centre in Lindsay Road, Poole.
We are pleased to announce that three Corporate sponsors, Pukka Pads, 288 Group and Powerboat Training UK have offered to provide sponsorship. We would be delighted to hear from other Corporate and personal sponsors who would like to support our appeal.
100% of the monies raised will go to the Sparkle Appeal, all expenses for the trip will be personally funded.
★ PUKKA PADS have agreed a generous two year sponsorship package for Zoom Tri Club in Bournemouth.
Poole based Pukka Pads the international stationery suppliers have agreed a two year sponsorship agreement with local Triathlon Club Zoom. Zoom and their junior club counterparts at Geronimo Tristars are keen to expand the development of triathlon in the area. Triathlon and multi-sport event participation has seen a huge growth in the past 5 years making Triathlon the fast growing sport in Europe right now. " Triathlon is booming! Its a sport that Great Britain can be proud of because we are superb at it" said Rob Griffiths club chairman. " We currently have The World Champion Tim Don and winners in many other World Championship categories, Under 23, Junior, as well as in the Women's long course and Duathlon events"
Many people are now taking up the fun and challenge of multi sport events like Triathlon with many of the big events getting sold out in hours. Amazingly even the longer endurance including Ironman are now selling out in super quick times as 'weekend warriors' are taking up the challenge. All 2000 places in the UK Ironman event taking place on August 17th here in Dorset was sold out months ago.
"The wonderful thing about Triathlon in this area is there is something for everyone, events come in all distances, in all age groups, there is lots of variety in the training and you get to spend time in the fresh air.. Fantastic!" said Griffiths.
Pukka's new sponsorship will help to support Zoom and the on-going development of its club activities. Zoom has already seen success this year with several of its age group athletes performing well at international events. The Club have a number of young athletes that starting to show their potential both in training and racing. Watch out over the next few years as some of the stars of future might just be swimming, biking or running near you right now!
