Pukka Sponsored Archer Continues to Let Fly
Kevin Hughes, the Pukka Pads sponsored archer, based in Grimsby, has put his brand new set of carbon arrows to good use this month by continuing his run of success with two excellent competition results.
Kevin's first competition of the month was the Friskney Bowmen - York Round on 03.06.12. Despite the wind and rain putting everybody's waterproof clothing to the test, Kevin never lost concentration and shot consistently well throughout the entire 7 hour competition. Kevin shot 140 arrows in total and claimed the 1st place trophy with an impressive score of 976 points, a good 33 points clear of 2nd place.
The next challenge that faced Kevin this month was the defence of his 2011 title at the Lincolnshire County Outdoor Championships - York Round on 10.06.12. This outdoor competition is combined with an inter-county team match against Leicestershire and Rutland so the skill level as well as the pride at stake was very high...
Kevin unfortunately got off to a bad start but showed real determination and strength of character during this competition by fighting his way back to the top. In the end, Kevin had to settle for 2nd place, only just losing out to Rory Campell (a Lincolnshire teammate of Kevin's) by 5 points.
